Position Purpose:
The Associate will report to the Head of Acquisitions and Capital Markets and will be actively involved in real estate acquisitions and dispositions across various property types, ground-up development or redevelopment projects, and capital raising (debt and equity). This role focuses on analyzing, underwriting, and providing insights and recommendations on acquisitions, dispositions, development, and financing opportunities. The geographic focus will be primarily the Northeast, Carolinas, and Florida.
Key Responsibilities:
- Contribute towards acquiring and capitalizing development projects, including industrial, mixed-use, multifamily, retail, and office properties.
- Assist in identifying and pursuing new opportunities that align with the company’s strategic vision.
- Manage complex commercial real estate transactions from inception to closing.
- Collaborate with development, construction, legal, and finance/accounting teams throughout project acquisition, entitlement, and construction phases.
- Gain hands-on knowledge of financial analysis related to real estate acquisitions, development, and capital raising.
- Utilize real estate models to analyze new deals’ financial feasibility and capital structure (debt and equity).
- Assist in structuring acquisitions, debt, equity, and joint ventures.
- Maintain oversight of the mortgage portfolio, strategize and execute financing options for new projects and upcoming maturities, and manage lender and equity relationships.
- Manage the loan closing process, including negotiating loan documents with legal counsel.
- Maintain and analyze databases for acquisitions and the existing portfolio.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree with a concentration in finance and/or real estate.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in the real estate sector.
- Ability to interpret real estate terminology and legal documentation, such as PSAs, leases, JVs, and loan documents.
- Proficiency with Argus and Microsoft Excel.
- Strong understanding of financial terms, reporting requirements, and financial documentation limitations.
- Exceptional organizational skills and strong attention to detail.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.

Work Week:
This position requires a full-time commitment, typically 60+ hours per week, including evenings and on-call times as necessary.
